DIRECTOR

Experienced and dynamic administrator / manager sought to direct and perform highly responsible professional, administrative and supervisory work to plan, organize, direct, coordinate and control all functions and activities of the Public Works Department including Engineering, Water and Wastewater treatment, distribution and collection; Highway/Bridge, Parks/Forestry, Traffic, Solid Waste and Transfer Station, Recycling and Hazardous Waste programs, Capital Projects, and providing technical assistance to various municipal boards

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, public administration, management or a closely related field; 7-10 years of professional and engineering, management and administrative experience, preferably including experience in municipal public works with 2 years as a director or assistant director.

Must possess a valid Massachusetts driver license, registration as a Professional Engineer, Registered Sanitarian, and/or licensed water and wastewater operator is desirous.  Some evening work is required to attend meetings and hearings or as response to major emergency events.

Must demonstrate track record of high level responsibility with supervisory experience.  Must demonstrate leadership skills in the context of formal organizations.

Engineering Technician

Full Time, Benefited Position
(37.5 hour week)

Administrative, technical, and support functions in the operations of the Engineering Division.  Assists in the in-house design and preparation of plans, drawings and specifications, and documents construction activities. Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering, surveying, construction administration and records management.  Computer competence and literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and Autocad/GIS.  Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering with 3 years experience, preferably in a municipal civil engineering environment; Bachelor’s preferred, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience that qualifies.
Normal hiring range: $40,100 - $43,200

Information Technology Manager
Town of Greenfield
Full Time – Benefited Position

Responsible for the management of all technology hardware / software and their functions, including personal computers and for the needs assessment, purchasing, installation, operation, maintenance, data conversion, and security of information technology systems for the Town.  Sets standards, policies and procedures governing the use of technology, hardware standards for workstations, servers, printers and other peripherals; storage guidelines, data archiving and purging guidelines; maintains compatibility of systems for back-up support and shared resources.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Systems or Science or related field preferred; over three years of experience in information technology involving planning, management and operations, training, programming or related skills with midrange or client-server systems including Local and Wide Area Networks, including at least two years of supervisory experience, public sector experience preferred; or, a combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position.  CNA, MCSE or CNE designations desirable.

Server/Desktop Support Specialist

Full Time – Benefited Position

Responsible for support of server/desktop operating systems, hardware configuration, webpage, and user support, including scheduling and maintaining existing operational functions, responding to non-scheduled service calls, diagnosing and resolving operating issues, and supporting and developing new system project plans. Installs and maintains server and desktop systems, related components, peripherals, operations systems, configurations, utilities, office automation and other applications; provides support for Microsoft office automation applications.  Connects server and desktop to networks and other interoperable devices and peripherals.  Performs or coordinates server and desktop installation and maintenance.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field or five years of proven experience, or a combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position.
Experience in assisting users remotely and onsite is required.   2 years experience: troubleshooting network connectivity and VPN related issues; basic routing and switching concepts; Windows Server administration; incident management; Server, Desktop and Microsoft Office (all versions) troubleshooting; Laptop, Desktop and Server hardware support.  Knowledge of Office365 preferred.

Part-time work assigned primarily at public service desks. 14.5 hours per week (currently including Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 5-8 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m.).

Highly responsible administrative and prosecutorial duties serving as department’s primary liaison to the District and Superior Courts and District Attorney’s Office in the coordination and prosecution of all criminal, non-criminal and civil cases involving the department.   Computer experience in windows environment necessary with database and report knowledge.  Five years office experience with police or legal office experience preferred.  Associates degree in criminal justice, management or other relevant field, bachelor degree preferred.  Must pass background check.
