The Greenfield Fire Department strives to maintain the highest degree of training for our personnel. Firefighters assigned to one of the four shifts complete a minimun of 15 hours of training per month. Training is conducted on both day and night shifts. Training topics include all aspects of firefighting and emergency service delivery complying with national standards and certifications. New hire firefighters all attend a full time 12 week firefighting academy located in Stow, MA and run by the Massachusetts Division of Fire Services. Call
Firefighters meet twice a month and receive 4 hours of training per month.
